#24 Clean & Simple

All I can dream of are clean whites, simplicity, and nature.  I bought 3 cacti plants the other day and got another small Elephant Bush from my mom.  I can't wait until I make my cactus table top garden.... or I might just keep them in their own separate pots.  Something about a cactus is so soothing, calm, clean, and happy.  It's sweet on the inside and fierce on the outside.   By the way, do any of you guys longboard?  I am dying to find a boarding partner here where I live, but have yet to find  someone that isn't a dude.

Peace XOXO

#23 A Dash of Coral

I seriously have a weird smirk on my face.  M and I made a quick run to the grocery store to buy lightbulbs.  I definitely felt cooler in a holey shirt and skirt in this 97 degree weather.   Lemme just say that it is not only hot here, it is also HUMID!  The humidity increases the heat by at least 5 degrees.   It's been scheduled to thunderstorm here for 10 days straight.  Uhh... I have a scheduled field trip with my kids this Wednesday to the pool.  I definitely don't think lighting bolts and water will go well together.    On another note, I'm definitely looking forward to/ NOT looking forward to the 4th of July weekend.  I AM looking forward to the BBQs, drinks, and fireworks, but I am not looking forward to the Peachtree Road Race 10K on the 4th at 8am.  Even if it is in the morning I know it'll feel like treading in a warm jacuzzi.

#22 Under the Weather & Neat DIY!

/ I'm feeling just a tad bit under the weather today.  Tutu and I are browsing through blogs and I found this cool DIY!  I will try to go to Home Depot ASAP to get my materials and try it.

DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet

We’re nuts for nuts. Is there a more versatile and inexpensive DIY component than a hex nut from the hardware store? You can imagine our excitement when we first discovered Philip Crangi’s Giles & Brother Hex Collection. Honestly, nuts braided into jewelry is WTF genius! With a few items that we always seem to have lying around, we tackled the technique and made our own spine-like braided hex nut wrap bracelet.
You’ll need:
- 3 strands of twine cut into one yard pieces
- 18 small brass hex nuts
- a bit of dexterity!
Gather the 3 strands of twine and tie a knot at the top, leaving about 2 inches of slack. Start braiding. At about an inch of the way down, you’ll begin braiding in the nuts. Before you braid the far left strand over the middle strand, thread on a nut, push it against the base of the braid, and crossover. Depending on the thickness of the twine, you can wrap tape around the bottom tips to prevent the twine from fraying. (Click images to enlarge)
Keep your thumb at the base of the braid, holding the nut in its place. Before you braid the far right strand over the middle, thread on another nut, push it against the base of the braid and crossover. Again, hold your thumb tightly against the base of the braid, keeping the nuts in place. Thread another nut onto the far left piece and crossover.
Repeat the steps, by threading the rest of the nuts to the outer pieces of twine before they are crossed over. Thread, cross, thread, cross. Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided twine and a knot.
The bracelet should wrap around your wrist at least two or three times. Trim it to your liking.
Good luck!!

#20 Olsen Inspiration

The Olsen Twins are always a source of inspiration.    Which one are you?  Which outfit would you pick?  I would say I'm more of the one on the left, but I would probably pair it with my Jack Purcells instead.

#19 Slow Mondays

Ran errands after work... left my house slowly, and did everything slowly.  What a slothy day.   I can't wait until my new loafers come in the mail!

#18 Spikes That Poke

So my Joomi Lim spiked bracelet accidentally poked a hole in my bf's car seat.  I feel awful because his car means so much to him.  He keeps asking me why I choose to wear thorns on my arm. haha, he'll never understand.
